Welcome to 2024!

Hello everyone, and welcome to 2024! I hope you were able to ring in the new year in whatever way you preferred to, whether that was with fireworks and partying or simply quietly sitting back and relaxing.

I know this message is a little late, but I’ve been ill for the last couple weeks and I’m just now starting to feel like myself again. But let’s be honest: that doesn’t excuse the lack of any content for nearly a year on this site. I’d like to share a couple statistics here:

Year in Review: 1 post, 620 words, 0 likes, 0 comments, and 0 subscribers

As you can see, I wasn’t very diligent at all with posting any content here. It was really easy to justify, too. It started with simple things like “I just posted that last article about the Steam Deck. I can wait a little bit,” and became “Well, I don’t really have anything new to say at the moment. I’ll get something posted soon.” After that, it wasn’t long until forgetting about posting to the site was the normal. I’ve been busy with my full-time day job after all. But I’d like to change that. I want to get better.

In light of this, I’m going to try to post not only the longer review articles that I’ve been posting, but also a basic blog. I’ll shout my opinions into the void of the Internet and see if anyone has any interest in the things that I say. I am going to also try to experiment with shortform content as well, since I deactivated/deleted my Twitter account once it sold to Musk. I will always do my best to keep things here clean and professional. I have accounts elsewhere that are better suited for certain content and it will remain there.

My plans for this year otherwise include continuing play some favorite games, picking up and trying out new games that interest me, and trying to continue my dev work. And, of course, to post results of all that here. I don’t want to commit to publishing a playable game demo/prototype this year, but I can certainly hope.

I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe, and happy year. I will do my best to try to not have the next post be “Welcome to 2025.”

And I just had to share this stat as well:
